Intro
Frequently Asked Questions
Conceptual:
Is Intro a dating app?
Not exactly, Intro is an introduction app. Introductions will help you find friends, hobbyists, and partners alike. Of course, you may disclose dating intentions, but remember to keep things light and cordial when meeting new people. If you'd like to learn more, check out our Substack article "How will we fix dating apps?"
What is an introvert?
We loosely define an introvert by what they enjoy. That is to say, anyone who enjoys indoor hobbies and quiet company may be considered an introvert. After exposure to crowds or high-energy socializing, an introvert may soon feel the need to rest and relax in a quiet space.
Are introverts anti-social?
Not necessarily, introverts can display remarkable social skills and engage in meaningful conversations. While anti-social implies an avoidance of socializing altogether, introverts prioritize socializing within comfortable environments and prefer taking breaks from others to find peace.
I'm not an introvert, am I allowed on Intro?
Anyone is welcome on Intro, and extroverts are free to choose Subclasses such as Intro Curious and Extroverted Introvert. We ask every user to be kind and respectful while engaging with members of our community.
Technical:
I've downloaded Intro, but tapping "I'm new here!" asks me to enable iCloud/Google Play
By default, new installs should not encounter this message. On iOS, check your iCloud settings by going to Settings -> iCloud -> Saved to iCloud, and scroll down to Intro. Ensure Intro is enabled. On Android, ensure your Google Play Games account is setup and present in the Google Play Store. Opening Intro should prompt a Google Play Games login.
I have iCloud/Google Play activated, but I still get a pop up message when tapping "I'm new here!"
On iOS, please ensure you are using the same Apple Account used to install Intro. Please ensure you have 20 Kb, approximately 1 photo's worth of available space on iCloud. If your iCloud is full, Apple should recommend ways to free up space. If you have available iCloud space and still receive this message, try uninstalling and reinstalling. On Android, ensure you are logged into a Google Play Games account on your device.
Why do I need to have iCloud/Google Play Games in order to use Intro?
Intro uses Raincoat, a revolutionary new login structure that replaces the collection of personal data, including usernames and passwords, to provide seamless login from any device. We prioritize data security and built Raincoat to maximize security while only needing 0.0004% of the 5 free Gb offered to every Apple Account.
User Experience:
I've set up an account, but there's nobody around. What do I do now?
Intro doesn't employ bots or fake profiles. As a result, there may not be other Intro users around when you sign up. But don't worry! Every user can join Club00 by going to the settings (Gear tab). Club00 shows you people who have also joined the club, allowing you to engage and find online friends.
How do I see profiles?
The Night Sky tab (marked with a Telescope) will display stars of various sizes and colors. Tap on a star to view a profile. Tap the edges to see photos. Tap the blue bar to pull up profile details. Tap the X at the top to come back later (their star will remain).
The Night Sky is cloudy, what gives?
Cloudy weather is the bane of Astronomy! But don't worry, after a little while the Night Sky will clear and show you stars, received Pings, and Connections. If over 30 seconds pass and still nothing, double check that you are connected to the internet.
